As Chief of the Office of Global Network Awareness, Wayne Schepens managed a team of over 100 specialists at the National Security Agency's Threat Operations Center in Fort Meade, Maryland. In his capacity, Wayne Schepens coordinated all network analysis activities related to networks of interest for the National Security Agency (NSA). Mr. Wayne Schepens worked with the FBI, CIA, Department of Homeland Security, and other agencies as part of his leadership role within the NSA. Wayne Schepens also oversaw development and staffing needs for his department and established an overriding vision for his team. Additionally, Wayne Schepens codified the Office of Network Awareness mission and worked on strategic business plans and operational strategy while working for the security group. Wayne Schepens also served as an NSA Visiting Professor to the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. In his role, Mr. Wayne Schepens directed an information assurance curriculum across multiple departments. Mr. Wayne Schepens also developed the Cyber Defense Exercise, which students utilized at United States Military Academies to defend real networks against attacking threats. Wayne Schepens is a licensed engineer in the state of Virginia and holds an advanced degree in Civil Engineering. Mr. Wayne Schepens lives and works in Maryland.
