Theanna Zika
Theanna Zika, founder of Heavenly Helpers Senior Home Care, was destined for a life devoted to the care of others. Theanna Zika’s studies in pre-med courses eventually led to a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry at its Health Sciences Center campus. After over 10 years of service as a full-time, registered dental hygienist, Theanna Zika parlayed her knowledge of the dental industry into a unique business. When Theanna Zika discovered that dental practices were accustomed to paying agencies for supplying a substitute or temporary hygienist at twice the hourly rate of their regular, full-time hygienist, she began contracting her services as a temporary hygienist. Theanna began filling in for regular hygienists throughout the city of St. Louis. Within four years, Theanna Zika's temporary hygienist business expanded to more than 50 dental offices that used her regularly. Although Theanna Zika enjoyed interacting with her patients, she was particularly drawn to her elderly clients. Theanna Zika decided to establish a senior home care business that provides non-medical homecare to the elderly, as well as those who are recovering from surgeries, undergoing rehabilitation, or have physical disabilities. Starting with only $5,000 in seed money, Theanna Zika grew her business steadily over six years so that Heavenly Helpers Senior Home Care presently has more than 60 caregivers assisting approximately 40 clients in their homes, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities. Heavenly Helpers caregivers make their clients' lives easier by helping with basic needs such as bathing, dressing, doing the laundry, picking up prescriptions, and providing transportation to appointments. However, where they really shine is the companionship they provide. Theanna's agency has earned a reputation of having top notch, "second to none" caregivers who love what they do. They are professional, smart and above all, caring. Theanna Zika belongs to Missouri Venture Forum, the Kirkwood Des Peres Chamber of Commerce, Yellow Tie International, and Honest Selling Professionals Association. When she is not working on her business, she loves to read, work out, garden, and hang out with friends.
