Dr. Sagun Tuli
Harvard University Health Services? first and only board-certified female spine surgeon, Dr. Sagun Tuli joined Brigham and Women?s Hospital in Boston as a Neurosurgeon in 2002. Today, she practices at the Center for Advanced Brain and Spine Surgery in Framingham, Massachusetts. Previously, Dr. Sagun Tuli treated patients at Faulkner Hospital and at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston as an Attending Physician in Neurosurgery. At the University of Toronto, Dr. Sagun Tuli received a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Toronto and earned designation as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Tuli also earned a Master of Science in Epidemiology at Harvard School of Public Health. Following a lengthy residency in neurosurgery at the University of Toronto, she undertook a spine fellowship at Brigham and Women?s Hospital. Dr. Tuli has held a number of teaching positions in neurosurgery at the University of Toronto and Harvard Medical School and taught clinical epidemiology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. Dr. Sagun Tuli has earned recognition as a physician mentor from the Women Physicians Congress of the American Medical Association and garnered the IF Award from the International Federation for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. She also received outstanding abstract distinctions from the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. As a medical student, Dr. Tuli won first prize from The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto in the annual Surgical Services Clinical Research Competition. A member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Dr. Sagun Tuli has also sat on numerous committees for Brigham and Women?s Hospital, including the Neurosurgery Quality Assurance Committee. She has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed articles, accepted speaking and presentation engagements around the world, and acts as an Ad Hoc Reviewer for Spine, the international medical journal.
