Prasanna Bhaskar


Fashion and marketing professional Prasanna Bhaskar has played a leading role in the development of the luxury fashion retail market in India, China, and Southeast Asia. For the past decade, Ms. Bhaskar has worked with senior executives at Louis Vuitton and Ferragamo, building innovative brand-launching teams, implementing efficiency and productivity improvements, and hiring regional management staff. Most recently, Prasanna Bhaskar served as the General Manager for Ferragamo Retail India, reporting directly to the CEO for Asia-Pacific and leading the brand?s penetration into 14 new cities through road shows. Ms. Bhaskar also launched Ferragamo?s yacht business, Nautors Swan, and assisted Ferragamo Hotels/Villas with promotional activities. Previously, Prasanna Bhaskar held the position of Regional Director for Southeast Asia and India at Ferragamo Hong Kong Ltd. In this role, she conducted the groundwork for the brand?s expansion into India, finding ideal retail locations, developing a brand strategy tailored to the Indian market, and recruiting a management staff. Ms. Bhaskar also implemented customer relationship management systems and negotiated strategic partnerships with luxury hotels, automobile companies and media partners like Vogue. In addition, Prasanna Bhaskar launched a number of successful promotional activities. She secured product endorsements from major Bollywood stars and worked on a philanthropic campaign in support of breast cancer awareness. Through these activities, Ms. Bhaskar propelled Ferragamo to the number two position in the Indian luxury fashion retail market, only second to Louis Vuitton, whose India operations she had launched in 2003. Prasanna Bhaskar speaks English, Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Malayalam, and some Mandarin.
