Nasser Kazeminy


Philanthropist and entrepreneur Nasser Kazeminy has accomplished many personal goals in more than four decades of professional achievement. Beginning his career with Honeywell International Inc. in London, Mr. Kazeminy was recruited by Control Data Corporation in the United States in 1969. While with the firm, he developed advanced logistics and management information systems, serving with the Peripherals Group among other divisions. This experience led Mr. Kazeminy to realize a market opportunity in the tax-enabled leasing of affordable computer peripherals. After establishing Minneapolis Leasing Corporation, Nasser Kazeminy quickly built the firm into the nation's largest private company of its kind. In 1980, he launched another entrepreneurial venture, NJK Holding Corporation. Focusing on early-stage technology ventures, Mr. Kazeminy has invested in a diverse array of companies, including Florida-based Cross Match Technologies, Inc. This biometric identity management systems firm markets its innovative technologies to governments, law enforcement agencies, and corporations around the world. Through NJK Holding Corporation, Mr. Kazeminy also invested in Silicon Valley-based iCelero. The firm strengthens mobile network speed through cloud services employing a novel memory card, which is compatible with most mobile devices. Nasser Kazeminy's business accomplishments have allowed him to focus charitable efforts on nonprofits meeting the educational and health needs of children around the globe. Mr. Kazeminy serves as co-founder and Chairman of the Board of the Nowruz Commission, which promotes traditional community values of caring and giving to those less fortunate. Mr. Kazeminy also provides major funding for the Foundation for Promotion of Democracy, which seeks to expand the reach of democratic ideals to every corner of the globe. His charitable activities extend to educational support for dedicated undergraduate and graduate students as well. Nasser Kazeminy was honored for his philanthropic work with the 1995 Ellis Island Medal of Honor. This award is presented by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) to distinguished Americans of diverse cultural backgrounds who contribute positively to society. Mr. Kazeminy is now engaged with NECO as Chairman, underlining his commitment to the nonprofit's positive social vision and ideals.
