Mark Hornfeld
Specializing in cataract and refractive surgery, Mark Hornfeld, D.O. has owned and operated a private ophthalmology practice in New York City since 1996. Dr. Hornfeld also performs general eye examinations and basic procedures from his practice, Vista Laser Vision. In addition, he contributes his services to several hospitals in the region, including Fifth Avenue Surgicenter, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, and the MacKool Eye Institute. Dr. Mark Hornfeld maintains a reputation as a leader in the field, formerly holding Diplomate status with the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Ophthalmology. He also maintains membership in the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the New York Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons. Dr. Mark Hornfeld initiated his undergraduate education at the State University of New York at Albany, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Shortly after commencement, he began his studies at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. After earning his Doctor of Osteopathy, Dr. Hornfeld accepted a rotating internship in osteopathy at the Brooklyn Jewish/Interfaith Medical Center. He subsequently accomplished a residency and a fellowship at the Cabrini Medical Center before joining Saint Vincent?s Hospital and Medical Center as an Ophthalmology Resident. During this time, he utilized his medical training to volunteer as an Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai, India. A standout in the program, Dr. Hornfeld acted as the Chief Resident in his final year at St. Vincent's before leaving to launch his private practice. In addition to his professional work, Dr. Mark Hornfeld extends support to The Hunger Project and belongs to the Global Investment Group.
