Kevin Keogh
Former City Councilman Kevin Keogh currently lives in Newark, New Jersey, with his wife and four children. Kevin Keogh’s two daughters have type 1 diabetes, and Mr. Keogh was formerly a member of the New Jersey Board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). In November 2009, he participated in the NYC Marathon Run to honor his daughter Kaleigh’s fifth birthday wish that her Diabetes would go away. By finishing the marathon in just 4 hours and 19 minutes, Mr. Keogh raised $27,000 for the Central Jersey JDRF. Kevin Keogh earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Montclair State University in 1988, where he also founded the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity. He was also named one of the Outstanding Young Men of America in both 1986 and 1987. He went on to earn a jurisdiction doctorate from the Seton Hall University School of Law in 1993, and later earned a Master’s degree in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. Mr. Keogh was admitted into the MENSA International High IQ Society in 2001. From 1998 to 2005, Kevin Keogh served as a councilman for the township of West Orange, NJ, where he was jointly responsible for a forty million dollar municipal budget. He has also served as a legal researcher for a Superior Court Judge in Newark and has worked in the U.S. House of Representatives 8th Congressional District as a Constituent Affairs Officer.
