Guido Bertucci
Guido Bertucci, is the founder and the Executive Director of "Governance Solutions International", an organization devoted to the identification and dissemination of innovative practices in governance and public administration. In his capacity he lectures and provides advice to governments on modernizing public administration systems and on developing public sector leadership. He holds a degree in Political Science and a Post-graduate Diploma in Administrative Sciences from the Catholic University of Milan. In addition, he was conferred an Honorary Doctorate in Public Administration by the University Inca Garcilazo de la Vega Lima, Peru and another in Economics and Management by the International Academy of Management, Moscow, Russia. Until 2008, he was the Director of the United Nations Programme on Public Administration, Finance and Development. This programme is designed to promote sound public policy, good governance and efficient and competent public administration, across the globe. Guido Bertucci has been responsible for advocacy activities in governance and public administration at the global level. Furthermore, he has also led the promotion of high-level intergovernmental discussions and consensus on public policy and governance for sustainable development. He has also headed and directed research and publications on several emerging issues in public policy, governance and public administration. One of the main publications he launched is the "World Public Sector Report", a flagship publication of the United Nations. He has organized meetings around the world, and has written and spoken on a wide range of topics including democratic governance, civil service reform, leadership, innovation in government and public administration, e-government, decentralization, economic and social governance, ethics and integrity. Guido Bertucci was responsible for the conceptualization and the organization of the "Global Forum on Reinventing Government" which took place in Vienna, Austria in 2007. The Forum was the most renowned gathering of Heads of State, Ministers, experts and practitioners from around the world to discuss innovation in government.
