Dennis Duban
Dennis Duban has served as Managing Partner at Duban Sattler and Associates, LLP for more than 25 years and has provided clients with exceptional service and advice on all types of tax matters as well as business and accounting management. Along with a team of 20 professionals, Dennis Duban, CPA, can assist clients with managing their entire financial lives, from retirement to estate planning. Dennis Duban and his associates also provide audit and examination backup, payroll management, and capital management. Dennis Duban contributes greatly to the firm by bringing in new business and acting as the Personnel Manager, a facet of his position in which he takes responsibility for supervising all of the CPAs, accountants, and business managers. Dennis Duban attended the University of Southern California (USC), where he studied accounting and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science. He won the Elijah Watt Sells Award and the John F. Forbes Gold Medal for attaining the highest score on the CPA exam in May 1973. After graduation, Dennis Duban returned to USC as a teacher, where he instructed students in accounting at the Marshall School of Business. In 2009, Dennis Duban was featured in an article in the St. Petersburg Times that told the story of his marriage in 2008 in Malibu, California, to his partner of 29 years, Kevin Montgomery, before same-sex marriage was outlawed in the state by Proposition 8. Their 16-year-old daughter Chelsea gave a speech that honored the men and talked about her views on marriage, which she believes transcends gender and comes down to two people being in love and forging a bond. Dennis Dubans daughter also spoke at The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) gathering in Los Angeles in 2010, where she championed same-sex marriage along with others including Joe Solmonese, President of HRC; Barbara Boxer; Portia de Rossi; and Kathy Griffin.
