At the heart of Course Hero lies a passion for innovation and a desire both to address the current, pressing needs of students, and to create technology-assisted learning tools that will help usher in a new era in education. Founded by a college student and created with the diverse needs of modern students in mind, Course Hero prides itself on its adaptability to emergent industry technology and on its vision for the future of education, both in the United States and throughout the world. With games and online media inundating today?s children, traditional methods of learning, such as print textbooks and in-person lecture classes, are already beginning to give way to interactive digital textbooks, online video lectures, and modular web-based learning tools. Furthermore, the way in which students approach learning in general is shifting as the way in which information is communicated changes form. By supporting the open sharing of educational resources across all subjects from thousands of universities in the United States and abroad, Course Hero has created a database that contains materials suited both for more traditional kinds of learning and for newer educational methods. 

 As part of its mission to revolutionize the way we approach education, Course Hero offers the Educator Platform, through which leading teachers from around the world can reach out to an international student audience. Students can search by subject, university, and educator, and the educator platform remains free for educators as well as students. Videos from this informative database include an introduction to black holes by a physics professor at Yale University and an introduction to probability and counting by a University of California at Los Angeles professor. In 2012, Course Hero plans to introduce additional features to its main platform that will be characterized by interactive content, dynamic assessment and game-based learning. With a company culture that embraces philanthropy, Course Hero established the Knowledge Drive to help bring the gift of education to underserved communities abroad. In partnership with the nonprofit Books for Africa, Course Hero donates books and textbooks and delivers them to libraries throughout Africa. In February of 2012, the Course Hero Knowledge Drive will make its first delivery of over 44,000 books to communities across Gambia.
